The Center

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

I remember several weeks ago or maybe it was a month and a half ago, you know how it is when you search your mind for a place in time it’s almost dream like…

The air is crisp and I remember saying to myself as I stood at the bottom of the mountain trail I often trained on. I wonder how long it will take me to get to the top and I need to hurry so I can get the ten thousand things done that I had to do at home.

My dogs where so used  to the same old redundant drill that they seemed on autopilot in front of me zig zagging in and out of the woods the same as they had done ever since I started this hill climbing exercise regiment.

Wham!! A thought flashed into my mind!!!

I was treating this vital part of my day as a regiment a routine, a drill. This realization completely changed my approach to my workouts weather it is on the trail or any other situation.

My dilemma, I realized, I was waiting to finish the workout pushing through it. I had discovered the center, a place where the only thing that I was focusing on was the experience, the journey.

Back to the trail. With this new train of thought I began using the breathing exercise and the metering methods I use in Megachest. The results where astonishing my breathing and body movement were in unison, synchronized. While in the center there was no time frame when I had completed my workout I was done.

The dogs still don’t get it; they kept the same old drill in and out of the woods. Dogs.

Best regards,

Breathing And The Effect On The Disposition

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

Happy people are large breathers if their good nature is not balanced by periods of despondency. So the cure of moods, blues and gloomy states of mind, may be found in the development of large chest, full lungs and outdoor habits, where the crisp good nature of air, sunshine and growing life may be imbibed in every breath. The theory has been proved to be true in hundreds of changed lives. People that shift from indoor seclusion to outdoor life and involve themselves in  physical culture will often change from poor health to good health and a radiant positive disposition and well being.
